Paris, September 24, 2024 - Troc Vélo, France’s leading second-hand bicycle marketplace, has selected Mangopay, a flexible and modular payment infrastructure for platforms, to manage payments between its individual users.
The partnership marks a formative step in Troc Vélo’s growth strategy by significantly enhancing the user experience. Through integrating Mangopay’s solutions to improve the online payment process, Troc Vélo is removing a key barrier to second-hand purchases between individuals on its platform. The new transaction journey facilitated by Mangopay is fully integrated into the user's purchasing experience, making transactions simple, smooth and secure.
Troc Vélo, the leading platform for buying and selling second-hand bikes and outdoor equipment in France, sees as many as 750 new items added every day. Founded 20 years ago before becoming part of the Avanis group, parent company of online cycling and running marketplace Alltricks, in 2021, the company has a strong reputation among cycling enthusiasts, appearing in a Google search every seven seconds.
With the majority of its transactions taking place privately between individuals, Troc Vélo was looking to enhance the security of the payment process to provide an optimal user experience and encourage the adoption and growth of cycling. Thanks to Mangopay's expertise and payment solutions, the transactions taking place on the Troc Vélo platform now benefit from the highest industry security standards, with funds being stored by Mangopay until the buyer and seller have agreed the sale and exchanged the bike. This not only provides the seller with reassurance that the buyer has the funds available before meeting in person, but also ensures that the item purchased meets the buyer's expectations before the transaction is finalised.
The entire payment flow is handled by Mangopay, with its advanced solutions making it possible to track and manage every stage of the transaction process to ensure a smooth and secure customer experience. Troc Vélo will benefit from Mangopay's expertise in securing high-value transactions, while offering the added flexibility and the scalability needed to support its growth.
Nina Dei Tos, Head of Product at Troc Vélo, said: “Our priority is to ensure that transactions taking place between individuals are both secure and seamless. Thanks to Mangopay, we were able to set up a robust payment infrastructure in just three months, guaranteeing our customers’ protection and peace of mind during transactions. This collaboration marks the start of a new era for Troc Vélo, enabling both buyers and sellers to benefit from an even more reliable and efficient experience with us. It also paves the way for future developments to strengthen the purchasing power of those on the lookout for good deals and the re-use of cycling and outdoor products.”
Tristan Torres-Velat, VP Global Sales at Mangopay, added: “We are delighted to support Troc Vélo in its mission to secure its online transactions. The rapid integration of our solution reflects the fantastic synergy that was created between our two technical teams from the outset. Our expertise will enable Troc Vélo to offer a superior user experience and pave the way for future innovative services.”
